Kris Perry took the helm of Children and Screens in May 2022, at a critical juncture in the movement to create a safer online environment for kids. She brings a wealth of experience and unwavering commitment to child well-being to her leadership of the Institute.
Prior to joining, she served as Senior Advisor to Governor Gavin Newsom of California and Deputy Secretary of the California Health and Human Services Agency, where she spearheaded the creation of the California Master Plan for Early Learning and Care, expanding access to high-quality early childhood programs across the state. Throughout her career, Kris has driven transformative change at the local, state, and national levels, including as executive director of First 5 San Mateo, First 5 California, and the First Five Years Fund.
